What is TV ATX?

TV ATX is an independent guide to Texas on screen — the film and television made in and about Austin and the state, the independent film scene that grew up here, the festivals that give new work its first audience, and the theaters where the city still watches together. It is part of the WholeTech Network.

How is this different from a studio or production site?

TV ATX is about the on-screen story: what Texas looks like in film and television, the scene, the festivals, and the cinemas. The working production side — the stages, crews, and incentives that get a picture made — lives on the production desk here and on our sister coverage of Texas studios.

Do you rank the best Texas films or shows?

No. We write original editorial in our own words and describe traditions, scenes and places — we do not reproduce another publisher’s lists, roundups or awards rosters. When a fact or a quote comes from somewhere, we link to the source and move on.

Where do the photographs come from?

Every image on the site is a freely licensed photograph from Wikimedia Commons, used under its Creative Commons or public-domain license, with the photographer and license credited on the page and in the footer. We do not use scraped or stock imagery.

Who publishes TV ATX?

TV ATX is published and maintained by the WholeTech Network, an independent Austin, Texas publisher building websites since 1996.

Is TV ATX free to use?

Yes. All content is free and accessible — no paywalls, no mandatory signups, no pop-ups.
